Bio

Marissa received her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Montclair State University and earned her Master of Arts in Clinical Counseling from Centenary University.  She is a Licensed Associate Counselor (LAC) in the State of New Jersey.

Marissa has clinical experience working with children, adolescents, and adults in an outpatient setting.  Her experience consists of working with individuals experiencing a wide range of struggles including anxiety, depression, substance use recovery, ADHD, ODD, grief, and life transitions.

Marissa utilizes a person-centered approach to empower her clients, bear witness to their experiences, and provide the space for her clients to be heard without judgement.  She uses evidence-based practices such as Motivational Interviewing (MI) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) in order to encourage motivation in counseling, enhanced insight, and personal growth.  She also offers psycho-education to help clients learn and practice skills in healthy coping and communication.

Outside of the office, Marissa enjoys spending time with her loved ones, singing, meditation, and immersing herself in nature.
